Stripes. They are ALWAYS in.
Stripes. They are ALWAYS in.
From its origins Stripes were worn by the "outcast," the servants, jesters, prostitutes and criminals. Stripes create contrast in clothing that represent ambivalence and breaking of boundaries. This rebellious spirit creating through the use of stripes during the French Revolution paved the ways it would be integrated into fashion to create a sense of whimsy and enhancement of a plain garment, making it a timeless pattern.

Decided on 3 distinct designs that each highlight different ways stripes can be used in clothing. One is a more coquette and used for a girlier design (Left). Another plays at the ways stripes are used in jester/clown outfits which I've seen trending in recent years (Middle). The last features the use of stripes in plaid/tartan patterns inspired by the way vivienne westwood would use stripes to invoke a more rebellious and punk aesthetic but still elegant in the garment shape aka a dress or skirt.

Yes, I still love stripes after completing this.
Having finally completed this project, I feel it helped challenge me a lot. I had to manage 3 main things, the designs, materials needed and the editing of it all to come together like I envisioned. I took these photos in my house living room with a backdrop from amazon and a tripod, but despite that I actually feel putting myself as the model allowed me to learn a lot about what works for photography especially for fashion.. I also got to have more fun with editing a unique style I hadn't tried before. I hope my vision was received on your end :)
